Function |
The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the nucleocapsid and serves as template for transcription and replication. During replication, encapsidation by NP is coupled to RNA synthesis and all replicative products are resistant to nucleases. Encapsidates the genome, protecting it from nucleases.
